Wix Mini Vs. Page Battle

January 15, 2010  |  Web Design, Wix

When creating your site in the Wix editor you have 2 options for your page structure, Mini and Regular page.

So which is better to use and what are the benefits?

Regular Page

These are the main pages that show up in the list on the right (in the wix editor).

  • These pages are limited to around 100.
  • They need to load completely before viewing on your site
  • By using regular pages for your site you can speed up the loading times, however if you are using 1 template/theme it will refresh every time you open a new page in the browser. So the loading is not as clean looking.

Mini Page

These are nested pages within a regular page.

  • These load like little widgets. That means that you do not need to load the entire page to see these.
  • Each mini page is limited to 50 nested pages.
  • If you overload your site with tons of minipages within minipages and lots of media, it will slow down the loading time tremendously as well as constantly crash your web browser while viewing and editing your site.

CONCLUSION:

If you plan on having a lot of pictures on your site, use regular pages as your main structure.

If you only have some content and a few images or slideshows, you can use nested mini pages for your structure. If you use only 1 regular page, you can make that your “template” so whenever you need to change your design, you only have to do it to 1 page.
