RGBA

The first three values are RGB color values and the last value is the level of the transparency (0 = transparent and 1 = opaque).

RBGA can be applied to any properties associated with color such as font color, border color, background color, shadow color, etc.

Text Shadow

Text shadow is structured in the following order: x-offset, y-offset, blur, and color;

Set a negative value for x-offset to shift the shadow to the left. Set a negative value for y-offset to shift the shadow to the top. Don’t forget you can use RGBA values for the shadow color.

You can also specify a list of text-shadow (separated by a comma). The following example uses two text-shadow declarations to make a letter press effect (1px top and 1px bottom).

text-shadow: 0 1px 0 #fff, 0 -1px 0 #000;

Border Radius

The shorthand for border radius is similar to the padding and margin property (eg. border-radius: 20px). In order for the browsers to render the border radius, add “-webkit-” in font of the property name for webkit browsers and “-moz-” for Firefox.

You can specify each corner with a different value. Note Firefox and Webkit has different property names for the corners.

Box Shadow

The structure for box shadow is same as the text-shadow property: x-offset, y-offset, blur, and color.

Again, you can apply more than one box shadow. The following example is a list of three box shadow declarations.

2px 2px 0 #bb9595,
2px 4px 15px rgba(0, 0, 0, .3);

Attendees are often exposed to tools and apps of the future.

Adobe MAX 2010

This is a conference for all Adobe fans, bringing together thousands of designers, developers and decision-makers under one roof. The 2009 event was a huge success with keynote talks from Adobe experts Ben Forta, Terry White and Greg Rewis.

Lenovo IdeaPad Tablets

HP Slate

Attendees got a glance — literally — of HP’s Slate tablet during the keynote address of Microsoft’s Steve Ballmer. (It was one of three “Slate PCs” Ballmer featured, the two others being the Archos 9 and a prototype by Pegatron.)

Details were sparse about the colored eReader-like device, which is said to run on Windows 7 and feature multi-touch. Word is that it will also retail under $500 and hit the market sometime this year.

Sony Dash

Not to be left behind, Sony also unveiled its dashing portable media player, the, um, Dash. Actually Sony calls it a “personal Internet viewer,” so obviously, you can surf the Web with it. Sony is also sweetening the pot by touting more than 1,000 free apps for the device, including weather, traffic, sports and, of course, social networking. The 7-inch-screen Dash will be out early this year and retail for $199.99.

Dell Streak

And the tablets keep getting smaller. The Dell “Streak” concept device is an Android tablet that appears to be more along the lines of an Archos as opposed to, say, a computer such as Lenovo’s aforementioned offerings. Details are sparse for this one as well, although the 5-inch screen and 5-megapixel camera have been confirmed by Dell.

Camangi WebStation

The Camangi WebStation is an Internet tablet powered by Google’s Android operating System. Besides Web browsing and checking e-mail, the device also functions as an eBook reader, music player, movie viewer and digital frame among other things. Electrovaya Scribbler 4000 Tablet PC

The Scribbler 4000 sports an Intel Core 2 Duo ULV processor that runs Windows Vista Business. Memory choices are either 1GB or 2GB SDRAM with storage options running from 60GB SMART SATA all the way up to 160GB.

Besides a detachable keyboard, other features for the Scribbler 4000 include a Wacom digitizer, Bluetooth, 1.3-megapixel camera, and both voice and fingerprint recognition. The 12.1-inch touchscreen also has a 180-degree viewing angle.

Fujitsu Stylistic ST6012

The Fujitsu Stylistic ST6012 is another slate tablet with a full Windows operating system. It houses an Intel Core 2 Duo ULV processor that runs Windows Vista Business. The screen is a 12.1-inch Wide XGA TFT indoor/outdoor display with viewing angles greater than 160 degrees.

Hard drive capacity ranges from 80GB to 250GB Serial ATA. Other features include a 1.3-megapixel camera, biometric fingerprint sensor, Wi-Fi and a shared slot for an SD card and Memory Stick Pro.

Panasonic Toughbooks

Panasonic offers two versions of its rugged Toughbook slate tablet line.

The first is the Toughbook H1, which sports a 10.4-inch dualscreen, hot-swappable twin batteries, 80GB shock-mounted hard drive and a sealed fanless design. It runs Windows Vista Business and includes an XP Tablet downgrade option. It can also withstand a 3-foot drop.

The Toughbook U1 trades in the H1’s bigger screen with a 5.6-inch sunlight-viewable LED touchscreen and backlit mini QWERTY keyboard on its bottom face. It also uses a solid state drive and can survive a 6-foot drop.

Tablet Kiosk Sahara Slate PC’s

Tablet Kiosk serves up three different configurations for its 12.1-inch Sahara slate tablet PC.

The Sahara i412T slate tablet features an Intel Celeron processor, 1GB of DDR2 memory, 120GB SATA hard drive, passive resistive touchscreen and biometric fingerprint reader.

The i440T slate tablet ups the ante with an Intel Core Duo LV L7400 processor, Intel Centrino Duo Mobile Technology, 2GB DDR memory, 160GB SATA hard drive and sunlight-readable display.

At the top of the Sahara food chain is the i440D, which sports 3GB DDR memory and throws in a dual mode active digitizer and touchscreen.

This little annoying image is Google’s new Buzz (aka Twitter, aka Facebook)….I guess they didn’t think we had enough social tools.
